Just dived in my new dry suit and I'm all enthusiastic again! I'm not usually available on Mondays and Tuesdays, but any other day is possible and the viz is usually much better on Thursdays and Fridays. |

Sadly Graham wont be re-joining the club at the moment.
The Pembroke dive for the week in May is now off.
At the AGM there was floated the idea of going back to Skye again. Checking Gordon's web site there is a 4 place availability for the long weeked of 29th-2nd May for 3 days diving then. This is the royal wedding weekend, and a damn fine opputunity to miss it completely.
So, Anyone fancy it? First 3 to reply please, or if we have enough intrest, we can move the trip to another weekend to accomodate more people.
I don't know if anyone saw it but Monty Halls was shown on TV, diving the Maidens off Gordon's boat. This was on 'Country Tracks', it was on BBC yesterday, and is available on iplayer - about 40 mins into the programme.

| | 18/07/2010 | 18/07/2010 22:32 | Capernwray |
Unfortunately, the costs of running Capernwray continue to grow year on year, and increases in electricity, gas and taxes have now pushed us to the point where we must increase our entry price. The last increase was two and a half years ago, and we have absorbed the increases since then, but can no longer afford to do so.
NEW FEES FROM SATURDAY 24th JULY 2010.
MEMBERSHIP REMAINS THE SAME.
Six months temporary membership - not yet qualified divers (pink)£5.00.
Lifetime membership for all qualified divers (blue) - £15.00
Upgrade from pink to blue on completion of entry level training - £10.00 ( assuming it is done within six months.)
Full membership is valid for life and does not need to be renewed, unlike most other dive centres. Also included is a free weekday dive worth £14.00!
DIVING FEES
Tuesday to Sunday (and Bank Holiday Mondays) - £14.00 per day
Wednesday nights (after 4pm) - £12.00
Personal loyalty cards
The price has been held down to £110.00 for 10 dives, which means that each dive is £11.00 and that you save £30.00!
The Compressor/mixed gas station has proved to be a big success since we invested greatly in a huge Williams and James 977 60cfm compressor at a cost of 25k. This gives us up to 100cfm of air and with our banked air system we now have minimal air queues, even at peak times during the weekend. From humble beginnings when Capernwray opened its doors in November 1994, nealry 16 years ago, the cost of an air fill remains the same at £3!
On March 29th 2010, we finally sank our biggest underwater attraction, a Hawker Siddley fifty seater passenger aircraft. G-BVOV has a 100ft wingspan and sits on her wheels. It took eight months to complete at a cost of £25k and we are proud to say that all the effort was worth it, as it is now the largest fully intact underwater aeroplane in the UK!
Plans for the future include an underwater camera that can be relayed to the new televisions in the Porthole restaurant, the sinking of wreck "Murphy"presently outside the dive shop (incidently Murphy dog will be 15yrs old in September-who says that burgers and sausages are bad for you!) We are also in the final stages of negotiating for a Blackpool Tram to add to the underwater theme park.
We regret this increase but our pledge to you is to keep Capernwray the friendliest and best inland Dive Site. |
